Edward C. Brewer, PhD, is Professor of Communication Studies and directs the Communication Studies and Advertising Online programs at Appalachian State University. His research includes over 20 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters. He has also authored or co-authored four books.
Terence L. Holmes, PhD, is Professor of Marketing at Murray State University. A former department chair, he currently serves on the College of Business Promotion Committee. Terry has published peer-reviewed articles and cases in journals, conference proceedings, and textbooks. Prior to his academic career, he was a retail manager, corporate trainer, and co-owner and director of a private vocational school.
Ed and Terry have worked together since 2000, developing training exercises, writing cases, and conducting research on the intersection of communication and marketing. They have published this research in academic journals and conference proceedings and presented their findings at numerous regional and national conferences. Their research and service improvement exercises are featured in their book, Better Customer Service: Simple Rules You Can Apply Today (Routledge 2021).
